U16 Most Valuable Player
This award is in the name of a young man George Hatzipanagiotis or as we all called him “ Hatzi “ who was one of our Junior players for 7 years from U7 to U14.
From the Comets he then got called up and moved into the FFSA state squad program.
It was always my dream as President to have a Comets player represent Australia and young George at the age of 15 was our first player to achieve that when he joined the U17 Joeys squad and represented Australia.
He wore the green and gold when he played against Japan in Japan in 2010.
He was a respectful young man who always had a smile, and you knew that he was special. Whenever he saw me, he would always come up and say hello and shake my hand and say “Hi Prez”
Tragically young George passed away in a motorbike accident in 2016 at the young age of 23.
He is an Angel in Heaven…. Forever in our hearts and thoughts.
