Adelaide Comets has recently been fortunate enough to welcome Precious Amani to the Club.
Precious, 7, has spent the first term of the 2018 school year in Adelaide on a scholarship from Kenya where she lives with her Adelaide born carer, Yasmine Ernst.
Yasmine started an orphanage, Zaidi Ya Dreams where she is raising 21 abandoned children, including Precious, and another 8 children are cared for in the community.
While in Adelaide, Precious expressed a desire to play football and Adelaide Comets were delighted to take her in.
Precious has been playing in Manuel Kopsaftis’ Under 9 Girls team since January, before she leaves Adelaide on the 30th of April.
Manuel tells that Precious is always keen to play football.
“When a training session or a game is finished Precious quite often will say ‘Coach, why can’t we keep playing?’,” he said.
“She also likes to hang off my shirt when she is subbed off and will ask ‘Coach, when can I go back on?”
Adelaide Comets is pleased to have provided this opportunity to Precious and wishes her the best of luck in her future endeavours.
