Adelaide Comets FC are proud to announce the appointment of Eddie Briscoe as the clubs Technical Director.
Eddie returns to Adelaide from Sydney having coached at senior level with several NPL clubs including, Stanmore Hawks, Camden Tigers, Belmore Hercules, Sydney Wanderers and Arncliffe Aurora.
Eddie was appointed as the head coach for the AESFA area from 2008-2010 and in 2013 was appointed as the Technical Director of Arncliffe Aurora, St George Association.
Throughout his senior coaching career, Eddie won several NPL championships and appeared in 3 Grand Finals and 4 top five play-off finals. Eddie has also won several major youth/junior championships with Arncliffe Aurora.
Amongst Eddies coaching career, he has developed a reputation as one of the leading youth coaches in the Western Sydney area. Eddie has conducted several EPL Football tours for young players throughout Australia. His biggest achievement to date was securing the signing of goal keeper Christopher Marques on a 2 year scholarship with EPL Club Stoke City.
Eddie has worked with clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Derby County to name a few. Eddie is the holder of the FFA B License and his playing career is as impressive as his coaching career.
As a player, Eddie started his football career as an Apprentice at Derby County, later transferring to Sheffield Wednesday before immigrating to be with family in Adelaide. On his arrival in Adelaide, Eddie played with local NPL club WT Birkalla before transferring to National Soccer League club, West Adelaide Hellas. Eddie finished his playing career in Adelaide at White City, before embarking on a move to Sydney in 1995
Eddie played for several clubs in the NSW Premier League before retiring and moving into coaching. Some of Eddie’s personal playing achievements include Central League winner with Derby County, leading goal scorer/best and fairest Birkalla, NSL finals – West Adelaide Hellas, Leading goal scorer/League winner – White City and represented the Senior South Australia Football team on 3 separate occasions.
